Black Friday helps set holiday shopping tone

"It's an exciting shopping day and a challenging day as well, customer service-wise," Vasquez said.
Vasquez hopes with the large number of people if you are going to go shopping on Black Friday, the biggest shopping day of the year, you will have a little extra patience.
Consumer's like Lori Martinez, avid Jordan Creek shopper accomplishes about half of her holiday shopping on Black Friday.
"I'm drawn to all of the good deals, that's what I spend my money on," Martinez said.
Other shoppers despise the shopping on Black Friday, Keyla Spahr, theatre and music major, sophomore is one of these shoppers. "[Black Friday] is a ridiculous ritual people have - they try to find the best deals when Christmas is more than a month away to maybe get a dollar off then they would any other day," she said.
Instead of hitting the stores during the holiday rush, she's going to wait till school is out to start on holiday shopping.
"I'd rather think about what I'd get people and take the time to either make them or think about something they would really love so they can have something from the heart rather than my pocket," Spahr said.
Black Friday is a tradition, one which is sure to continue on for years to come. Whether hunting for the best deals at 2 a.m with thousands of other shoppers or simply taking the time to make things from the heart, this day is one everyone can look forward to.
