Homecoming activities are booming all across campus this year and students are taking a greater interest in the variety of activities that are now offered than they have in the past.
I am really excited that GV is offering more activities for students to do than last year, and more variety within those activities," Madi Riddle, psychology and human services sophomore, said.
Not only has the amount of activities increased during Homecoming weekend, but there will also be more variety in the events. There is something for everyone to do every day.
Students participated in activities this week like street painting, tie-dying homecoming shirts, movie night in Bud's Place and many more.
"I got to do street painting and tie die my homecoming shirt this week," Dani McKinney, English sophomore, said. "It was fun because I got to make my own shirt and I got to represent choir in the street painting competition. I had a lot of fun showing my school spirit."
This coming weekend also includes many activities including the bonfire on Friday night with the Homecoming football and soccer games on Saturday followed by the dance at 9 p.m. that night. Sunday morning students can participate in a worship service as well as the Installment Brunch for the University's new pastor, Rev. Charlene Cox.
Riddle said, "I am really excited that the homecoming dance is at Val-Air Ballroom this year. It is a really cool location."
The list of all the Homecoming activities for the week and weekend is posted all around campus thanks to SAC.
"I like that there are more activities that I can actually participate in," McKinney said. "Last year the times were not convenient for me and this year there are so many more options."
