Grand View Choir to perform in annual Spring Soiree

"It has been tricky and overwhelming coming back from spring break, the students were so focused on singing, then all of a sudden they had to change their routine," she said.
Duffy said since they have been back, working on their individual pieces and preparing for the baccalaureate performance has taken priority, along with catching up on schoolwork after missing classes.
The choir preformed the last part of their Spring Tour at home on April 5, so people could hear what they had been singing in Germany and Denmark. Duffy said the turnout was decent for the bad weather and was happy family members could witness the songs they had been performing in other countries.
Although Duffy enjoyed the trip over break, she said she was excited about going some place warm next year.
"My expectations have been totally exceeded this year. We have grown strong as a group and are incredibly mature for having a lot of freshman," she said.
Angela Coulson, music education freshman, said it was great seeing fellow choir members get better everyday and was thrilled to see what other groups have in store for the evening.
"It's amazing to see the assortment groups working together," she said.
Carter said students should come because they would enjoy the array of distinctive sounds, rather than a regular concert in which there may be only the sound of one group.
"The Soiree is casual and will be appreciated by other students for its individuality by presenting the voices apart from how they have been heard all year," she said.
